Volunteer as a
Team Official
Returning as a Team Official
THANK YOU for investing your time and effort to provide a great experience for our athletes! LMHA could not operate without the support of volunteers like you! Please read the details below carefully. There is a different process to follow for NEW, TRANSFERRING, or RETURNING Team Officials.
VOLUNTEER APPLICATION CHECKLIST
Hockey Canada ID
Criminal Record Check (CRC)
Respect in Sport (RIS) - Activity Leader
Concussion Awareness Training Tool (CATT)
Read below to learn more about the Team Official application process.
Step 1
Hockey Canada ID
If you have ever played minor hockey anywhere, played ASHL hockey, or volunteered as a team official in ANY Minor Hockey Association, you already have one!
NEW TO MINOR HOCKEY
(NO HOCKEY CANADA ID)
If you are a first-time Hockey Canada volunteer and you have NEVER played minor hockey or in the ASHL, we need to create your Hockey Canada ID before you complete your Criminal Record Check, Respect in Sport - Activity Leader, and CATT. There is a link below to provide the information needed to create your HC ID. Please allow a minimum of 48 hours for our Administrator to contact you with your profile and provide you with the next steps. Do not move to STEP 2 until you have received this information.
NEW TO LMHA
(EXISTING HOCKEY CANADA ID)
If you have played minor hockey before, have been a rostered team official with ANY Minor Hockey Association or played in the ASHL, we need to transfer your profile to our database. There is a link below to provide us with the information we need to transfer your Hockey Canada profile to LMHA.
RETURNING TO LMHA
(TEAM OFFICIAL WITH LMHA IN PREVIOUS SEASON)
If you have been a Team Official with LMHA in previous seasons, have LMHA check your certifications to expedite the application process.
Step 2
Criminal Record Check (CRC)
If you are 18 years or older, a CRC is required every 3 years and is free through LMHA.
Please note that there is a new process for completing a Criminal Record Check. The following access code will be required:
8PPB7KPFJM
Once you have completed the CRC, please forward the confirmation to: info@langleyminorhockey.ca
If you are unable to complete the online process, please email info@langleyminorhockey.ca. LMHA does not provide volunteer verification letters or reimburse members for Criminal Record Checks completed at the RCMP detachment. Additionally, LMHA is unable to accept CRC’s from other organizations.
Step 3
Respect in Sport (RIS) - Activity Leader
This online course is required every five years and will be reimbursed by LMHA upon completion, provided you are rostered to a team. Please ensure that you select the Activity Leader version, not the Parent Version. Reimbursements will be processed by LMHA during the season via a reimbursement request form. Please save your receipts and wait for the call.
Step 4
Concussion Awareness Training Tool (CATT)
This free online course currently has no expiry date.
Step 5
Required Coaching Certifications
Coaches must ensure that they are certified at the level of their team, prior to the start of the season, or register and complete the applicable coaching course prior to December 1st of any season. Clinics fill up quickly so please register sooner than later and remain up-to-date! It is the coaches responsibility to be aware of the appropriate requirements for the season/team.
